With the deepest sadness, we inform you of the passing of the very best third baseman to ever play the game of softball. Aralyn Jade Slack went home to Heaven following a fierce and determined battle with DIPG. She has chosen to donate her healthy organs to children in need and her brain to science to study her tumor and results of her various treatments. The earth is teaming with beauty and fun because of the footprints she has left on those diamonds in Lynchburg and in all walks of her beautiful and far too short life. Our districts may be separate but we are one family and together we mourn, no matter the color of our jerseys. The solidarity is unmatched in a such a time of intense grief and love. The love of the game of softball brought Aralyn into this league, same as every one of us, and as a united front we stand for her and everyone who grieves.
